Data Operations Manager

This is a challenging and exciting leadership role in Lexi’s Data Operations Team in Penang, Malaysia, located in the Suntech @ Cybercity Building in Bayan Lepas.  The Data Operations Manager leads our team of technical data analysts in processing terabytes of supply chain data through Lexi’s proprietary cloud-based software tool, using Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as machine learning (ML) to derive valuable business intelligence insights for Lexi’s customers.

The ideal candidate will be able to stay focused on strategic priorities aligned to company objectives while leading, supporting and inspiring our Data Operations team to meet all project deadlines and who leads by example the Lexi culture of pioneering innovation and breakthrough “can do” problem solving.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and manage the Data Operations team in all technical data operations and ensuring that weekly and monthly deliverables are produced on time for our customers.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain data transformation and standardization processes, working proactively to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Leverage your (Electronics Manufacturing Services) EMS experience with costed bills of material (CBOMs) and engineering bills of material (EBOMs) to bring technical and commercial insight into the process of data analysis, data discovery, and derivation of business insights for our customers.
  • Perform detailed quality reviews (of BOM data health and Lexi’s processes to achieve it), data investigations and issue identification when necessary, working to troubleshoot and resolve challenges identified with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coach, train and develop the team as Lexi grows to upgrade skills and knowledge.

  • Minimum Bachelor level technical degree (EE or CS preferred). 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience (3 of those in positions managing teams) in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) companies in component engineering, technical program management, operations, and/or supply chain management / procurement / sourcing positions.
  • Good knowledge of electronic components, suppliers, costs, CBOM structure, RFQ processes, etc.
  • Very strong PC skills, especially in Excel and working with databases.
  • Excellent communications skills, spoken and written, in English and Malay.
  • Great leadership and interpersonal skills, working teams of technical and admin associates, in keeping with the Lexi culture that values commitment to delivering on our customers’ expectations, developing our people, critical thinking, and innovation.
  • Ability to work at all levels within Lexi and with our global customers (mostly in Europe and the USA).
  • Ability to handle periods of heavy workloads, cope with multiple projects in parallel, set the right priorities, and get stuff done.

Would be great if you also

  • Can speak Mandarin (we have some customers in China)
  • Have an MBA or equivalent
  • Have specific software or technical skills in database management, PLM, ERP, CAD…

Data Admin

Position Scope

  1. Data verification for incoming Bill-of-Materials to support the Data and Operations team
  2. Be involved in day to day data-cleaning tasks
  3. Create work orders for operations and follow up to committed project deliverance to internal and external customers
  4. Provide ongoing support to the data and operations team proactively
  5. Communicate as focal person to internal/external customers for all data related initiatives and issues


  1. Basic understanding of a bill-of-material.
  2. Good PC skills are required and intermediate knowledge to Microsoft Office, mainly Excel.
  3. Other skills required – Data Registrations and Supply Chain
  4. Intelligent, motivated and competitive, with a “roll-up-the-sleeves” and “get the job done” attitude
  5. Fast Learner, Good Memory, Innovative and Creative way of analytical and evaluative skills
  6. Willing to collaborate within the Lexi team and ability to work independently on given tasks and meet deadlines
  7. Good written and oral communication skills in English
  8. Careful and meticulous with strong sense of responsibility

Technical Data Analyst

Position Scope

  1. Involve in day-to-day data scrubbing process to meet committed project deadline.
  2. Provide second level end to end technical support in data mining and data enhancement.
  3. Assist data admins by providing necessary information and leverage knowledge on technical data management.
  4. Establish process flows and work instructions.
  5. Other related tasks as assigned by the superior.


  1. Minimum of Electrical/Electronic Engineering Certificate/Diploma/Higher National Diploma.
  2. Minimum of 1 years(s) working experience in Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) industry.
  3. Familiar with the basic component terminology & engineering documentations.
  4. Able to work independently and multitasks with simultaneous projects with time constraints.
  5. Strong personal abilities to achieve the delivery of tasks to schedule.
  6. Computer literate (Word, Excel-intermediate level).
  7. Good communication skills (both written and verbal) in English and Bahasa Malaysia (mandatory).
  8. Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem solving abilities.
  9. Works effectively in a team environment.

Program Manager


  1. Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Engineering (Electrical/Electronic). Business Studies/Administration/Management) OR equivalent.
  2. Required skills – MS Office Applications, Project/Program Co Ordination and client management.
  3. Experience in the Electronics manufacturing sector would be added benefit.
  4. Ability to communicate (verbally and written/reading) in English and Mandarin- Mandatory.
  5. Flexibility to work across different time zones/hours/cultures.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environment.
  7. Able to work independently and is results-driven.
  8. Able to travel for business/client meetings as needed (regionally and globally).
  9. Team player, you are a social and fun person.
